The International Olympic Committee (IOC)

logo_iocThe International Olympic Committee is the supreme authority of the Olympic Movement.

Acting as a catalyst for collaboration among all members of the Olympic Family - National Olympic Committees, International Federations, athletes and Olympic organizing committees, TOP partners and UN agencies - the International Olympic Committee (IOC) cultivates success through a series of programs and projects that give life to Olympic values. On this basis, the IOC ensures the Olympic Games are organized regularly, supports all the member organizations affiliated to the Olympic Movement and strongly encourages the promotion of Olympic values using appropriate means.

Peace and Sport sustains many links with the IOC: the organization is placed under the High Patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, IOC member since 1985, IOC Vice-President supported by Mario Pescante, Chairman of the Committee on International Relations, who is himself a Peace and Sport Ambassador.

In 2010, Peace and Sport was appointed to serve on the IOC’s Working Group on sport for peace and development.
