The Euro-Mediterranean Anna Lindh Foundation for dialogue between cultures is an institution shared by forty-three countries in the Union for the Mediterranean Region. Its purpose is to bring together people from both sides of the Mediterranean in order to improve mutual respect between cultures and to support civil society stakeholders working to develop a common future for the region.

The Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) was founded in 2005 by the Member States of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership (Euromed).

In March 2010 the Anna Lindh Forum took place in Barcelona, a major gathering of civil society stakeholders concerned with promoting cultural interaction across the Mediterranean region. More than 500 representatives from NGOs and civil society from Euromed’s 43 countries met for the first time to discuss and develop actions to promote dialogue, mutual understanding and peace.
